Code for GovTech (C4GT) has conducted two rounds of Dedicated Mentoring Program (DMP) since 2022 where selected students and working professionals get an opportunity to contribute to critical tech building blocks with the guidance of a dedicated mentor. They work closely with DPG builder and adopter organizations on real world problem statements that have a population-scale social impact.
As part of the initiative, DMP is an experiential learning opportunity for technology enthusiasts across the globe who are passionate about technology. Participants will solve population-scale problems, work on live open-source projects and drive impact, while being mentored closely by experienced industry practitioners.

Question 2. Is this the first time that Code for GovTech's Dedicated Mentoring Program is happening?
No, this is the 3rd edition of C4GT’s DMP. It was conducted in 2022 for the first time with 13 contributors , 9 projects & 4 organizations. In 2023 DMP scaled to 103 Projects , 103 Contributors, 87 Mentors & 21 organizations.

Question 3. How long is the Code for GovTech's Dedicated Mentoring Program?
The C4GT's Dedicated Mentoring Program lasts for 3 months, from June 1 to September 11, 2024.

Question 4. Who can apply for Code for GovTech's Dedicated Mentoring Program?
Any technology enthusiast who has the skill set mentioned in the project requirements and is interested in coding and willing to contribute to open-source projects is eligible for participation.

Question 5. Why should I apply to Code for GovTech's Dedicated Mentoring Program?
Applying to C4GT's Dedicated Mentoring Program can benefit individuals looking to enhance their open-source contribution skills. C4GT offers a learning opportunity with industry experts, providing valuable knowledge and experience. Participants also receive a lucrative stipend ( last year's stipend was INR 1 Lakh). Additionally, they can secure a PPI or PPO with participating organisations, leading to exciting career prospects.
Question 6. How are contributors selected for Code for GovTech's Dedicated Mentoring Program?
Organizations that want to participate in C4GT's Dedicated Mentoring Program submit a list of projects. Participants then apply to work on these projects. This submission is in the form of a project proposal. The participating organisations and mentors select the students who will work on their projects based on their qualifications and project proposals.

Dr Pramod Varma
Chief Architect of Aadhaar, CTO - EkStep Foundation and Co-Founder for FIDE.org.
Pramod played an integral role in building and scaling Aadhar to 1.2 billion people in a short span of 7 years. In addition, he has also helped architect various India Stack layers scale such as eSign, Digital Locker, and Unified Payment Interface (UPI).

Founder - Open Brackets Foundation & Executive Director - Chintu Gudiya Foundation.
Donald has been actively working to empower NGOs and organisations to develop open-source software for the public good. His foundation's current focus is on transforming the way non profits use tech and data via the Project Tech4Dev, Avni and Glific initiatives
